MY LITTLE children, I write you these things so that you may not violate God's law and sin.

But if anyone should sin, we have an Advocate [One Who pleads our case before the Judge for us] with the Father--

[it is] Jesus Christ [the all] righteous

[upright and just - Who conforms to the Father's will in every purpose, thought, and action].

Lord, It is as if we stand as the accused in the heavenly court, before our righteous Judge, God the Father. Our Advocate stands up to answer the charges: “He is completely guilty your honor. In fact, he has even done worse than what he is accused of, and now makes full and complete confession before You.” The gavel slams, and the Judge asks, “what should his sentence be?” Our Advocate answers, “His sentence shall be death; he deserves the full wrath of this righteous court.” All along, our accuser Satan, is having great fun at all this. We are guilty! We admit our guilt! We see our punishment! But then, our Advocate asks to approach the bench. As he draws close to the Judge, he simply says: “Dad, this one belongs to Me. I paid his price. I took the wrath and punishment from this court that he deserves.” The gavel sounds again, and the Judge cries out, “Guilty as charged! Penalty satisfied!” Our accuser starts going crazy. “Aren’t you even going to put him on probation?” “No!” the Judge shouts. “The penalty has been completely paid by My Son. There is nothing to put him on probation for.” Then the Judge turns to our Advocate, and says, “Son, you said this one belongs to You. I release him into Your care. Case closed!

Pray the Word:Lord, it seems that we actually, at times, find comfort in saying, ‘Times are worse now than they’ve ever been! Things aren’t like they used to be!’…………. Perhaps, it’s because it gives us an EXCUSE for our seemingly failure in our own present problems. It gives us a reason to say, ‘What’s the use?’…….. Forgive me for the times I’ve said this. I’m sorry for challenging Your mercy, goodness & kindness to me in the days that I live in.[WHY?]For it is not wise [foolish & lacking good sense]or because of wisdom [lack of good judgment] that you ask this.

Lord, I see Jesus at the very lowest time of HIs life and, yet, it was the very pinnacle of His life. He knew what He was here for and He saw it through until it was fully completed. I see Jesus in all His Glory (astounding all of earth & heaven) and as I give the highest praise & honor to Jesus for the greatest victory of all time, I am asking for that same endurance to complete Your purpose my life. I will Glory in the Cross!

Lord, how much sleep have I needlessly lost while I tried to figure out how to ‘build the house’ in my mind……….over & over & over again:( I ask that You give me the power to exercise control over my SELF to stop wasting my time by useless labor of the ‘flesh’ while I should be sleeping.

by his so-called philosophy and intellectualism

and vain deceit (idle fancies and plain nonsense),

following human tradition (men's ideas of the material rather than the spiritual world),

just crude notions following the rudimentary and elemental teachings of the universe

and disregarding [the teachings of] Christ (the Messiah).

Lord, deception is so deceiving. We can hardly recognize it has happened until it has happened. I don’t want to get carried away with what I ‘think’ or ‘feel’ is right [from people, ideas, thoughts, circumstances or any other thing], but, give me the power to be more alert in my spirit to what would influence me away from Your teachings.

to direct and produce a repentance that leads and contributes to salvation and deliverance from evil,

and it never brings regret;

but WORLDLY GRIEF (the hopeless sorrow that is characteristic of the pagan world)

is deadly [breeding and ending in death].

Lord, I find myself asking that ‘why?’ question too quickly when circumstances in my life are going uncomfortably out of hand (and, especially, when it keeps going on & on…..) & I don’t like the pain it’s producing. Even though I know You permit grief & pain for a reason, I still need Your grace today to stay away from wallowing in WORLDLY GRIEF over these circumstances. I want ‘no regrets’ today.

Lord, I want to say that I don’t ever have a ‘THING’ that I fear. . . .well, we both know that’s not true. But, it is my DESIRE to recognize THE THING that would cause me to fear and work on getting past it. Grant to me the ability for this desire of my heart.

Lord, is all my ‘busyness’ really needful? Am I busy about the right things? Are the days of my life crowded with some busyness that’s only taking up time and energy and causing me unnecessary stress and wearing me out by the end of the day? I ask for You to show me the busy areas that are weighing me down and help me to make the necessary changes.

Lord, what a problem we have with our families, our nation &, yes, the world coming to senseless ruin. You are telling us that the bottom-line is that You have been left behind in the rush of our lives. To have the knowledge of Your law, we must read, understand & apply Your Word, not only to ourselves but to our children. Help me today, and every day, to correct this problem in my life.

Lord, what a huge comfort to be assured that there’s a TENT over me of Your GRACE that covers and shelters me; giving me strength and power beyond my ability especially when I feel the weakest. I am SAFE each and every day under the covering of Your GRACE TENT!

Lord, I want to recognize more quickly when it is Satan working his deceitful strategy on me. Let my spirit be aware what he’s targeting [my mind, my will, or my emotions] and what weapon [lies, suffering, pride or accusations] he’s using against me. I know I have Your Word as my defense, the intercession of Jesus Christ, and Your Holy Spirit living within me…………how can I not be able to stand up to anything Satan brings?
