Amos 8: 11

Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord God,

when I will send a FAMINE [short supply] in the land,

not a FAMINE [short supply] of bread, nor a thirst for water,

but [a FAMINE - short supply] for HEARING the WORDS of the Lord.

Lord, we know YOUR WORDS are still available, but it’s rare that those WORDS are really HEARD. . . . This is THE FAMINE. . . . HEARING is in short supply because it’s far more than just being aware of words or concepts – it’s focusing careful attention to what’s been said that ends in obedience. Today, we open our ears to HEAR Your WORD and ask to be fed right in the middle of the FAMINE.
