What remains . . . . wheat or chaff?Lk. 22: 31 - 32
Simon, Simon (Peter), [ listen! ]
Satan has asked [excessively] that you be given up to him [out of the power and keeping of God],
that he might sift [shake and agitate] you like wheat.

that he might sift [shake and agitate] you like wheat.
[Grain was agitated or shaken in a kind of fan or sieve. The grain / seed remained in the fan, and the chaff (the worthless husk) and dust were thrown off.],
| -------------------------- Pray the Word: Lord, it is relatively unimportant to Satan whether we are healthy or sick, rich or poor; what he wants is to sift out our faith. And, we‘re in as much jeopardy as Peter was as Satan desires to shake and agitate us with trials and temptations to see whether or not anything of faith will remain, or whether there’s too much chaff [worthless and useless effort outside of faith]. We ask for Your protection and divine power as we stand strong through the sifting process! |
