A whole suitcase of fears to stop us

A whole suitcase of fears to stop us

Standing before an intimidating conference, Peter and John explained why they would overcome any obstacles and their own fears [rejection, what others would think, being inadequate, failure, etc.] in order to preach Jesus.

They knew that despite whatever others might do them, Jesus was Lord and they were responsible to their Lord to announce his message – LOVE TO THE WORLD from GOD, THE FATHER! They were not alone in that meeting. God was there with them to help them, but if they would have chosen to take another path, He would have seen that also.

Acts 4: 19 - 20

But Peter and John replied to them,
Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you and obey you rather than God,
you must decide [for yourself – you will be held accountable for your own decision].

But we cannot help telling what we have seen and heard. [we have decided to be faithful to what we know is Truth and that we must obey God rather than men].

Pray the Word:
Lord, this gives us the strong realization that our foundations of ‘being secure’ and ‘being somebody’ are anchored in belonging to You and pleasing You instead of being dependent upon ‘what others might think’. If we believe that our importance and security depends upon how others treat us or what they might think of us, then it will be extremely difficult if not impossible to tell anyone the message of the Cross which the world considers foolish and scandalous.

Thank you for reading my blog of thoughts, encouragement and instructions the Lord speaks about to me. It is simply my therapy to write down these things as I walk my journey out with Him. I would love to hear back from you. Each new day is a blessing! Dorothy
