IF ONLY THERE WERE SOMEONE to arbitrate between us, [mediate the terrible gulf between man and God that must be bridged by another party]
TO LAY HIS HAND UPON US BOTH. [who understands us both and brings us together]

Pray the Word:
Lord, we wonder if we really comprehend the magnitude of the DAY of GRACE we’re living in; in that, unlike Job, who lived before You provided that SOMEONE to mediate between You and man, he cried out in anguish for such a One who had the authority to stand before you and bring to Your attention the issues that were causing him pain and distress of life. Since the Cross, we now have that SOMEONE who knows, sees and understands . . . JESUS CHRIST . . . Who is at the right-hand of God as our mediator interceding on our behalf!
