I Sam. 17:38-39
Then KING SAUL provided David with his armor;
he put a bronze helmet on his head and armed him with a coat of mail.
And David girded his sword over SAUL’S armor.
Then he tried to go, but could not, for he had not proved them. [had no skill or experience in the handling of that kind of heavy armor]
And David said to Saul, I cannot go with these, because I am not used to them.
And David took them off.

Pray the Word:
Lord, this is what made David such a dangerous man to his enemies – he didn’t care what the King wanted or how impressive the armor was – he knew all he needed was what You had equipped him that was unique to his strengths and abilities. So, jerk our chain when we begin to admire the talents or strengths of others and seek to imitate them and become someone we are not.

Thank you for reading my blog of thoughts, encouragement and instructions the Lord speaks about to me. It is simply my therapy to write down these things as I walk my journey out with Him. I would love to hear back from you. Each new day is a blessing! Dorothy
