I Sam. 18:10-12
The next day an evil spirit [permitted] from God came mightily upon Saul,
and he prophesied in the midst of the house, [beside himself in an agitated state of anger - he made prayers and supplications; calling down harm on those around him]
and he prophesied in the midst of the house, [beside himself in an agitated state of anger - he made prayers and supplications; calling down harm on those around him]
while David played the harp with his hand, as at other times; [a humble, kind, and honest person who just wanted to be of service to his King]
and there was a javelin in Saul's hand. [the emblem of majestic authority and power]
And Saul cast the javelin, [using the greatest pressure of intimidation he had]
for he thought, I WILL PIN DAVID TO THE WALL. [trying to kill him and his influence among the people]
And David evaded him twice. [the divine intervention of God towards him]
And Saul was afraid of David, because the Lord was with David, and was departed from Saul.

Pray the Word:
Lord, we are encouraged by Your Word to know that You love us and are aware of us in time of need as much as You did David – and when we feel we’re BEING PINNED AGAISNT THE WALL, we can be assured that Your divine intervention will be there before it can harm us. We’ll also take the warning to not go the way of Saul who, acting out in rage, was left destitute of courage and greatness of mind, of wisdom and discretion, and became mean and miserable, and exposed himself to the disrespect of those around him. Thank You for Your Word that keeps us in check. You are faithful!
