[Jeremiah – ‘the weeping prophet’ gives first-hand counsel from what he has learned through his extended suffering]

IT IS BECAUSE OF THE LORD’S MERCIES [His undeserved forgiveness toward us based on His pledged covenant promise to us fulfilled and sealed through Jesus Christ]

THAT WE ARE NOT CONSUMED, [cannot be completely destroyed physically, mentally or spiritually]

BECAUSE HIS TENDER COMPASSIONS FAIL NOT. [cannot fail and will not stop because of His covenant promise]

Pray the Word:

Lord, IT IS BECAUSE OF Your mercy being rooted in Your pledged covenant of love through Jesus Christ, that we can count on it . . . It is not fickle, inconsistent or changeable because it is based on a covenant promise  .  .  and we can be as sure of it as the covenant promise that ‘the sun will rise in the morning’ until You come. Great is Thy faithfulness! Help us not to voluntarily surrender our right to Your covenant promise.
