Mean exactly what you say

Mean exactly what you say

Matt. 5:37

Let your communication of ‘YES’ [affirming or confirming something as true] BE SIMPLY YES,

and your communication of ‘NO’ [affirming or confirming something as false] BE SIMPLY NO;

ANYTHING MORE THAN THAT [resorting to the need to enlarge on a subject to prove your point]

comes from [the source of] an evil intent. [intending to mislead, be obnoxious, destructive, harmful, or inflict pain]
-----------------------

Pray the Word:
Lord, because it seems to make people doubt we’re telling the truth when we have to unnecessarily enlarge on the subject, appearing to have to prove our point  .  .  .  .  .  may we learn that just a simple reply or statement, sticking to the facts and meaning what we say – knowing that we don’t intend to mislead, be obnoxious, destructive, harmful, or inflict pain by what is said – is the best kind of conversation.

Thank you for reading my blog of thoughts, encouragement and instructions the Lord speaks about to me. It is simply my therapy to write down these things as I walk my journey out with Him. I would love to hear back from you. Each new day is a blessing! Dorothy
