Me - a wretch?

Rom. 5:8

But God commendeth his love toward us, [clearly proved His love for us]

in that, while we were still sinners, [a WRETCH = sinful and depraved by birth and by our own commissions; in desperate need of a Savior]

Christ died for us. [took our place and became our ‘sin’ by dying  on the cross that we could have forgiveness and save us from eternity in hell]

Pray the Word:

Lord, we can sing the old hymn by heart:  ♫Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound that SAVED A WRETCH LIKE ME . . .” ♫ .  .  . Hold on!!  ME – A WRETCH? .  .  No matter how good we think we are, it’s not until we know that we are like condemned criminals before You that we can begin to understand how amazing Your grace really is. When we can honestly say that Your  grace SAVED A WRETCH LIKE ME, we can begin to stand in amazement at the greatness of Your grace. In fact, Your grace is only a ♫sweet sound♫ when you know how deep it had to go to clean you up!
