May the God of your HOPE

[why?]
for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.

Be sober = not intoxicated on the cares of life.
Be vigilant = always alert.
Be cautious = aware of the warning signs.


We're in a battle of life and death whether we like it or not . . . the question is: "Do we want to just survive or do we want to win?

Give, and it [what you gave] will be given to you;

good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will they pour into [the pouch formed by] the bosom [of your robe and used as a bag].

For with the measure you deal out [with the measure you use when you confer benefits on others],

it [what you gave out] will be measured back to you.

Consider what we GIVE:

    Mercy or Judgement

    Grace or Intolerance

    Kindness or Harshness

    Patience or Frustration

    Forgiveness or Grudges

Satisfied with what you're GETTING?
It has everything to do with what you're GIVING.

HE WILL 'git-r-done'

Make no mistake . .

HE is God and HE WILL 'git-r-done'

Is. 46:9-10

[Earnestly] remember the former things, [which I did] of old;

for I AM God, and there is no one else; I AM God, and there is none like Me,

Declaring [clearly stating] the end [conclusion]

and the result [consequence] from the beginning [before it happens],

and from ancient times the things that are not yet done,

saying, My counsel shall stand [it will happen], and I WILL DO all My pleasure and purpose. [nothing can stop it]

Make no mistake - HE WILL 'git-r-done' - Wait on Him!

Acts 16: 24-26

Paul and Silas were put into the inner prison (the dungeon) and they fastened their feet in the stocks.

But about MIDNIGHT, as Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God,

and the [other] prisoners were listening to them,

SUDDENLY there was a great earthquake, so that the very foundations of the prison were shaken;

and AT ONCE all the doors were opened and everyone's shackles were unfastened.

Confident in their Savior, they CHOSE to pray praises and sing praises while chained to the wall in a dungeon at midnight [the lowest hour in the dead of night].
Our choice of attitude makes the difference in what we allow God to do.

1 Kgs. 19:11-13

And He said, Go out and stand on the mount before the Lord.
And behold, the Lord passed by,
and a great and strong wind rent the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the Lord,
but the Lord was not in the wind;
and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake;
And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire;
and after the fire [a sound of gentle stillness and] a STILL, SMALL VOICE.
When Elijah heard the voice, ..........he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. [in reverent awe before the presence of the Lord].

God does not do the 'ka-bam' thing with fireworks to prove His presence and miracles.
Keep your eyes and heart open.....miracles are happening all around us.

Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, [in prayer]

and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind ALL THAT NIGHT

and made the sea dry land; and the waters were divided.

And the Israelites went into the midst of the sea on dry ground, the waters being a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.

When Pharaoh drew near, the Israelites looked up, and behold, the Egyptians were marching after them;

and the Israelites were exceedingly frightened and cried out to the Lord.
Moses told the people, FEAR NOT;
 STAND STILL (firm, confident, undismayed)

AND SEE the salvation of the Lord which He will work for you today. For the Egyptians you have seen today you shall never see again.

The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace and remain at rest.

 Two things to do to receive the promise:
1. Fear not - resist doubt
2. Stand still - after you've done all you know to do


The Promise:
To see (witness) the salvation (protection and deliverance) of the Lord.

And about the ninth hour (three o'clock) Jesus cried with a loud voice, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?--that is, My God, My God, why have You abandoned Me [leaving Me helpless, forsaking and failing Me in My need]?
And Jesus cried again with a loud voice and gave up His spirit.
And at once the curtain of the sanctuary of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; the earth shook and the rocks were split.
The tombs were opened and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep in death were raised [to life].

The Day of the Cross!

What have we to fear with such a Savior?

* Sky darkened - 3 hour eclipse
* Veil of Temple rips open
* Earthquake
* Tombs open - dead people walking around

CONVINCED! ! ! ! !

CONVINCED!!!!!

Phil. 1:6

''And I AM CONVINCED and sure of this very thing,

that He Who began a good work in you

will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return],

developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.''

CONFIDENT = very sure; fully persuaded

Confidence in ourselves eventually brings doubts.
Confidence in God brings the devil to his knees.

God opens the door. . . . WIDE!

''I know your [record of] works and what you are doing.

See! I have set before you a door wide open which no one is able to shut;

I know that you have but little power,

and yet you have kept My Word and guarded My message

and have not renounced or denied My name.

Because......... you have guarded and kept My word of patient endurance

[have held fast the lesson of My patience with the expectant endurance that I give you],

I also will keep you [safe] from the hour of trial (testing) which is coming on the whole world to try those who dwell upon the earth.''

Guarding and keeping God's Word will enable you to see and to step through the door HE has set before you.

I can do ALL things THROUGH Christ....who lives WITHIN me.

 ''I KNOW HOW to be abased and live humbly in straitened circumstances,

and I KNOW also how to enjoy plenty and live in abundance.

I HAVE LEARNED in any and all circumstances the secret of facing every situation,

whether well-fed or going hungry,
having a sufficiency and enough to spare or going without and being in want.''

I KNOW HOW = understand from experience.
I HAVE LEARNED = acquired by experience.

Are we to assume that there is a divine purpose involved with the bitter and with the sweet in our life?

Tough .. but necessary .. lesson to learn

God is ready & able to fulfill His promises to us......
So...........what's the deal?

He's waiting on US to meet the requirement!
     To be WILLING = the power of our daily choices!
     To be OBEDIENT = willing to be submissive to His authority.

ENDURANCE = how much ability you have to last out the waiting

WALK HUMBLY w/YOUR GOD - submit your understanding & your will to His direction & foresight

and gave thanks and asked a BLESSING,
and then BROKE it
and was GIVING it to them when their eyes were [instantly] opened
and they [clearly] recognized Him, and He vanished departed invisibly.''

The Process of God:

TAKES - calls/chooses you, then.........
BLESSES - lays His hand on you, then........
BREAKS - allows trials and hardships, then........
GIVES - uses you by giving you glory, strength and power!

nor things impending and threatening nor things to come,

nor powers,

nor height nor depth,

nor anything else in all creation

will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.''
