New Year's Resolution

Devil - Put It Back!

It is time for us to take back everything the devil has stolen from us.

Prophetically, the time is right and spiritually, the glory of the Lord is ready to come down like rain out of heaven ... it is time we activate our faith into works!

I realize some may not be fully aware how to use your faith and your authority against the forces of darkness that rule this world ------ and you may not know how to claim back from the enemy what is rightfully yours in the spirit realm. So, here is a true story told by Dr. Lester Sumrall that should help.

FYI:
Dr. Sumrall at 17 years old, recovered miraculously from tuberculosis. After losing most lifesigns (the doctor said he would be dead in 2 hours) he saw a vision of a coffin and the Bible. God asked him to preach The Gospel or he would be in that coffin in 2 hours. He remembers repenting of his sins and asking God to cleanse him and forgive him. It was at this point he was born again. Choosing to preach the Gospel he fell asleep and in the morning he had miraculously recovered. It was at this point he knew he was called by God to become a preacher.

Dr. Lester Sumrall years ago found himself in the middle of the Central American rain forest. As he went about his ministry in that region, he came across a witch doctor. In today's rock and roll Hollywood scene, this witch doctor would look like a normal man ... but, in those days, this was a pretty strange fellow! In one hand, the witch doctor would hold a bull frog (always a symbol of satanic power). In the other hand, a mixture of human blood and alcohol was placed in the frog's mouth. Then the witch doctor would dance, make satanic incantations and worship demon entities.

Fortunately, Dr. Sumrall wasn't raised in the modern-day school of humanistic, people-pleasing preachers. All Dr. Sumrall did was follow Jesus' biblical example. He placed his hands on the side of the witch doctor's head and said two words: Come out! The witch doctor fell over with a thud. When he returned to his feet, the witch doctor was born again and glorifying God.

Later, that night, Dr. Sumrall returned to his room to go to bed. Since it was warm, and without air conditioning, he decided to open the windows while he slept. As he lay down, a strange odor began to fill the room. Suddenly, all of the sultry heat of the night disappeared from the room. A damp chill filled the place. It was so cold, Dr. Sumrall began to shiver. A wind began to blow the curtains wildly on their rods. Then, the bed began to shake so violently that it moved all the way out into the middle of the floor.

Well, Dr. Sumrall had enough of this! He rose up on his bed and said, "You demon spirit, I recognize you. I cast you out earlier today. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, you go now!"  Immediately, the evil presence left the room. The heat returned. The curtains laid down against the wall, the bed stopped shaking. The horrible odor left the room. Now, most modern-day preachers would have written a book right there! They would have written seven books and told how the devil obeyed them ... but, that wasn't Dr. Sumrall. Instead, he rose back up in his bed, looked out the window and shouted, "Hey devil! Get back in here!

Immediately the curtains began to stick out on end as a wind rushed through the room. The coldness returned ... the smell returned ... the bed began to shake violently and almost shook him out of bed. Dr. Sumrall sat up in his bed and said "Devil ... When I came into this room my bed was against that wall. Now, in the name of Jesus, PUT IT BACK!" The bed went shaking back across the room and settled down against the wall. "Now," Dr. Sumrall ordered, "get out of here!"

Today is the day of restoration for us!

We are not to be content with just making the devil leave ... but we are going to tell him to PUT IT BACK and restore EVERYTHING that he has stolen from us!

Let us gather our horses and sharpen our swords of God's Word. Let us raise our banners and strike fear in the heart of our adversary ... Now it is time to invade the enemy's territory and take back everything that rightfully belongs to us. Let us raise high the blood-stained banner of the cross of Christ, and declare to the alien forces of the Antichrist, "Our God lives and is on His Throne and He Reigns!" Hallelujah!!

Let's Laugh!

Let’s Laugh!

Gen. 18:1-5

Abraham sees “three men” approaching – not realizing at the time it actually was The Lord and two angels. (It was only much later that Abraham realized who he was talking to.) Abraham greets the three men with supreme courtesy as he runs to meet them bowing low to the ground. He addresses one of them as “My Lord”, he refers to himself twice as their servant, and he urges them to stop and rest, while he goes to get water and bread for them – meaning he rushes into the tent to find his wife, Sarah, saying; “Quick! Three measures of best flour! Knead it and make cakes and roast the calf from my herd!”

Sarah does not speak. She remains on the outskirts of the action, hidden from the view of the men, as tradition dictated. So far, so good? Then suddenly the conversation becomes mysterious when one of the three men asks “Where is your wife Sarah?” How do they know her name? Abraham couldn’t have possibly known at this point that these men were The Lord with two angels - nevertheless he doesn’t seem surprised at all. “There in the tent”, he says, not wondering why his guests should inquire after his wife.

Now . . . we begin to think that Sarah might be closer to the centre of this story than many would have thought, even though we cannot see her, hidden away as she is in the tent.

Has God come about Sarah this time? Has the Lord who had paid Abraham so much attention now be turning His eyes to Sarah?

God – as one of the three – says; “I will surely return to you in due season, and your wife Sarah will have a son.” So, now the spotlight swings round, and for the first time it is Sarah who is caught in its beam.

“And Sarah was listening at the entrance behind Him. Now they were old, advanced in age, it had ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women…So Sarah laughed to herself.”

Sarah had heard everything. What else could she do but laugh? . . . . Cry out? . . . Argue? . . . How could she do what she’d never done all her life? “Worn out as I am,” Sarah says.

Sarah had been waiting years and years to hear this news. And even now she has to overhear it. It’s only by accident that she learns that she will finally have the long desired baby…that she has her own contribution to make to Abraham’s heritage.

Her laughter is understandable. Sarah is past the time of child-bearing and the Bible gives a fairly broad hint that Abraham and Sarah’s physical relationship was ancient history. And, yet, the simple question was asked, " is anything too hard for God?"

Where is their faith? Where was their trust in God in the working of miracles? Have all their senses hardened and their hopes vanished in the decades of demands and disappointments?

And then all of a sudden Sarah is all ears, when she hears one of the Men say: “Why did Sarah laugh?” How could He have known her thoughts? Who were those Men? How did they know them?

And then Sarah brings herself out into the open. “I did not laugh,” she says, for she was afraid. And the Man simply responds: “Oh yes, you did laugh (and that’s ok!)

Contrary to what I have always heard about “Sarah laughing – i.e.; that she was laughing ‘at’ God in sarcasm and contempt → I love the fact that The Lord here didn’t reprimand her or blame her for having tried to hide her reaction to something she took as amusing enough to bring her laughter and, probably, brought a lightness to her weary soul. He only confirms that she has laughed.

Sarah tries to withdraw her laughter, but The Lord is not having any of that! . . . . He tells her that the son who is to be born to her will be called Isaac – which is Hebrew for “God laughs”.

Laughter was what changed Sarah’s whole life.
